Our Facility
We have a beautiful NEW facility that is a dream to come to, and to work in! We relocated down the hill, just past the two gorgeous live oaks. We used some “green” building techniques during the construction, including metal lifetime roof, which reflects heat to make cooling easier. We use all digital xray, which cuts down on chemicals in the environment. Long lasting “smart flooring” which is completely sealed and requires fewer chemicals. Our outdoor environment is full of native plants and uses water runoff basin to capture rain runoff.

Our History
AAHA Importance to You and Your Pet
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an international association of veterinary care providers who treat companion animals. Established in 1933, AAHA is well-known among veterinarians and pet owners for its high standards in veterinary practices and quality pet care.
AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada and only 3,300 animal hospitals have achieved the high standards required for accreditation. Receiving accreditation means that an animal hospital choose to be evaluated on 900 standards in the following areas: quality of care, diagnostic and pharmacy, management, medical records, and facility.
Highland Road Animal Hospital has been accredited for almost 30 years. It is one of 4 veterinary hospitals that are accredited in Baton Rouge area and it is one of only 900 veterinary hospitals that have been accredited for over 25 years. AAHA accreditation is part of Highland Road Animal Hospital’s commitment to remain on the leading edge of veterinary medicine and provide the quality and range of services that you and your pet deserve.
