Healthy, Fit Puppies & Kittens
“Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man himself will not find peace.”

Keep your pet on the path to a healthy and long life
Puppies & Kittens
At Highland Road Animal Hospital we want to be a part of your pet’s life from the earliest days in order to keep your pet on the path to a healthy and long life.
Because of their size, puppies and kittens are much more susceptible to dehydration and other ailments. While these conditions in older animals can cause discomfort, in younger animals they are much more serious.
We suggest that you bring your new puppy or kitten to see us as soon as you adopt him or her. We will provide your pet with a full physical examination including a parasite check. Parasites are especially harmful to younger pets and can be present at birth. During that first exam we will assess your puppy or kitten’s need for parasite control and any other plan of action that might need to be taken.
At your first visit to Highland Road Animal Hospital, we will decide on a course of vaccinations. We will not start vaccines, however, before your puppy or kitten is ready. For different pets that point of readiness comes at different times. This depends on breed, size, health and environment. We will always assess your pet’s needs and tailor a health care program specifically for your pet.
